My Favorite Sci-fi Movie
Hello everyone! Has anyone read Retrograde by Peter Cawdron? It’s one of my favorite sci-fi thrillers, and I highly recommend it for any sci-fi collection. The novel explores the exotic adventure of traveling to Mars, but also the harsh reality of living in lava caves deep below the surface of a frozen, lifeless planet.
The story immerses you in the experience with the crew of Endeavour. Liz, one of the characters, is particularly great and reminds me of Lina from my own work, Magnatron The CPU. Peter Cawdron is a creative writer with other notable books like Anomaly, Little Green Men, and Feedback. His ability to make you feel like you’re part of the story is truly amazing.
Thoughts: Amira, a young Arab Jewish girl and member of the Zippos, draws her cyber-gothic (Edge Runner) style from her best friend Ella. She faces a tough challenge dealing with Yochanan, a power-mad Jewish Rabbi who sees Supreme Leader William Brown as a key to a Messianic Age. With one brother deluded by grandeur and another grounded in reality, Amira navigates three worlds: her heritage, the digital realm, and the Gentile world. This complex balancing act adds depth and imagination to Magnatron The CPU, breathing new life into sci-fi.
Conclusion: To foster diversity and inclusion, it’s essential to create new characters rather than relying on gender or ethnic swapping in old stories. Crafting original tales is an art that deserves time and pride. Readers will appreciate and enjoy these stories as they age well over time, like fine wine.
